We are always searching for adult and student volunteers to help with all the events you see scrolling through our web page. If you are interested in volunteering, please use the link below to register.
For the sporting events, the adults, of course, keep the scorebook, etc. and the students are called “ball shaggers” and retrieve the balls that go off court and out of bounds and “towel tappers” who notify the referee in wrestling that time is up. Both adults and students need knowledge of the sports and we ask that the students are no younger than 4th grade.
Volunteer Opportunities
State Wrestling – keep the scorebook, announcers, run the clock, & student towel tappers State Volleyball and Casper Invite Volleyball – announcers, keep the scorebook, track Libero, & run the clock State Basketball - announcers, keep the scorebook & run the clock State Track – secure gates so only authorized personnel enter, announcers, knowledge of stopwatches to time at the finish line, & various help at all field events (shot, discus, pole vault, triple jump, long jump, high jump) Spelling Bee – Judges and spelling checkers. Science Fair – Judges. History Day– Judges.
Robotics
We are looking for parents wishing to be a robotics coach/sponsor. Fingerprinting and background checks must be fulfilled. FIRST may also have some other standards. FIRST Lego League (FLL) (http://www.firstlegoleague.org/) is for students in grades 4-8 and needs adult judges to judge the four different criteria on the robots. FLL Judges and Referees are trained and are paired with a seasoned judge/referee the first time you volunteer for this event and the FLL volunteers will be guiding the teams to the judging tables, etc.
FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) (http://www.usfirst.org/roboticsprograms/ftc) needs general volunteers to help set up the floor for the participants on each round for grades 7-12.
