Included in the guidelines are links to Individual Entry Forms and Rubrics, as well as the submission timeline. Recommended Building Deadline: January 12th, 2024. Authors are encouraged to draft their work well before their school’s winter break and then prepare final drafts after returning from break. Building winners should be announced by Monday, January 29th, 2024.
Required District Deadline: February 5th, 2024. (Digital Entry Form due to Devin Hodgins at Centennial Junior High School by 3:00 p.m.) District winners should be announced by Monday, March 4th, 2024.
Required State Deadline: Friday, March 8th, 2024 Winners at the State level will be announced by Monday, April 15, 2024, or as soon as judging is complete. Celebration of State winners in Casper/virtual on Saturday, May 4th, 2024, unless otherwise notified.
We are going all digital at both the district and the state levels this year. Authors may still produce a physical book, of course. You, as building coordinators, are free to accept physical submissions as you see fit, but all entries to the district (building level winners) must be submitted digitally using this form: Master Entry Form. (More help on that entire process coming soon.)

Also, Jill Felbeck-Jones, chair of the WSLA, will be hosting a YA Meet the fourth Monday of every month for District Coordinators, but anyone can attend. Here is the open link.
Also, the Casper Literacy Council wants to assist K-12 students in Natrona County complete their Young Author entries, which will be due to their building contest January 12th. We will provide short lessons on best writing strategies, and revising and editing of their entry.
